列夫·达维多维奇·朗道（1908—1968）理论物理学家、苏联科学院院士、诺贝尔物理学奖获得者。1908年1月22日生于今阿塞拜疆***国的首都巴库，父母是工程师和医生。朗道19岁从***格勒大学物理系毕业后在***格勒物理技术研究所开始学术生涯。1929—1931年赴德国、瑞士、荷兰、英国、比利时、丹麦等国家进修，特别是在哥本哈根，曾受益于玻尔的指引。1932—1937年，朗道在哈尔科夫担任乌克兰物理技术研究所理论部主任。从1937年起在莫斯科担任苏联科学院物理问题研究所理论部主任。
